Thank you for friendship

Today is a very special day. Only two countries in the World are celebrating it.

Since Middle Ages they have being written history sometimes together, sometimes singly but every time with the memory of each other.

At present Poland and Hungary don't have common borders but everyone in Europe know how close we are together.

We had common lords like Erzsébet magyar hercegnő/Elżbieta Węgierska, Lajos I Nagy/Ludwik Wegierski, I. Ulászló/ Władysław III Warneńczyk or István Báthory/Stefan Batory. Hungarian poets wrote on Polish land and vice versa. In 1848 a Hungarian Revolution began and Polish generals fight together with Hungarians (Poland like Hungary wasn't independent). On II WW Hungary was annexed by Third Reich but soldiers weren't fighting with Poles. They would rather to destroy rails and bridges than to attack Poland. In 1956 in Poznań students protested against communist government. A few months later students in Budapest started the biggest revolution behind the Iron Curtain. Poles sent material help which was bigger than help from the rest of the World. One of the most important centre of support collection was Wrocław.

Why Poland and Hungary? I don't know. Maybe a very similar history. Maybe languages which are the most difficult in the World. I haven't heard about other countries which have specific friendship like we.

I wish us a continuous cooperation and friendship. Also I hope that other countries will live together with others. Like us.
